A new company for broadcasting for mobile phone will be established by five companies such as DoCoMo, Fuji.

Five companies (NTT DoCoMo, Fuji Television, Nippon Broadcasting System, Sky Perfect Communications (SKAPA), and C. Itoh & Co. Ltd.) cooperate to establish a broadcasting company for mobile phone. A new company is established within this year, it works on the program production for mobile phone and the service development jointly, and the establishment of a broadcasting station is examined. Uniting communication and broadcasting, by the major companies of the communication and broadcasting, will be advanced not only for internet but also for mobile phone business.

First of all, a program exclusively for mobile phone is produced.

--The same TV program as the one received at home can be broadcasted by One Segment TV. One Segment TV, started in April this year, can send the clear picture and character information. The Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications is studying to grant to broadcast of a program exclusively for mobile phone in 2008.


---Special broadcasting station establishment is examined. It is an idea to newly establish the broadcasting station because the digitalization of the television is completed in 2011 and the frequency band of the analog broadcasting becomes empty and to acquire a part of an empty frequency band from the Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications becomes feasible.

By ten channels, the operator for broadcasting for mobile phone can offer programs such as, Nikkei news, English CNN news, the sports channel, the cooking program, the musical program, the TV shopping, the program specially for children, a premium channel, a regular channel, an economy channel, etc.

When the customer of the economy channel wants to see world soccer a couple of days only with the sports channel, the operator for  mobile phone system can add monthly charge only for a couple of days of sports channel, also charging for the premium channel by the use time may become possible.

Detailed use data according to the region, generation, occupation can be acquired in the mobile phone system easily. The use of the customer data for public communication company to increase the sale must be forbidden, however, if they get user consent as a monitor, customer data can be used. Analyzing these valuable data, the operator can create better program, a persuasive explanation for the advertiser becomes feasible and increase sales of advertisement becomes feasible.
